May is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and impactful months in Chance 2 Dance history — and we’re just getting started. As our team prepares for our first-ever Brooklyn performance at the iconic Roulette Theater on May 30th, we’re celebrating a wave of success, energy, and community connection across all our programs. From a sold-out Music Bingo fundraiser in Staten Island, New York to our upcoming Florida performance in Orlando on May 18th, this month is full of joyful movement, meaningful advocacy, and unforgettable moments.

Florida Stars in the Spotlight
While we’re counting down to Brooklyn, we’re also gearing up for another major annual event: C2D Central Florida’s 2025 Spring Performance at Colonial High School in Orlando on Sunday, May 18th. This showcase brings together our talented Central Florida-based dancers for a dance performance that celebrates their incredible growth and creativity throughout the season.
From our studio dancers and award winning performance team to our school-based dance programs as well as community outreach & collaborations, our work in Central Florida continues to grow thanks to passionate teaching artists, devoted families, and, most of all, the creative brilliance of our dancers. The Stage Is Set: C2D NYC’s First Brooklyn Performance
It’s official: Chance 2 Dance NYC is headed to Brooklyn! On Thursday, May 30th, our students will take the stage at the historic Roulette Theater for a performance that’s been years in the making. This milestone performance marks our very first public showcase in New York City outside of Staten Island, and we couldn’t be more proud.
The Chance 2 Dance NYC dancers have been working hard all season long, mastering choreography, building confidence, and expressing themselves through movement. Every performer will have their moment to shine in front of family, friends, and the wider Brooklyn community. The energy, the excitement, the spectacular venue — it’s going to be a performance to remember!
Significantly, for the first time ever, this event will see all of our New York City partners come together in the same location — an incredibly exciting prospect that has been in the works ever since we expanded to NYC in the summer of 2023. The 2025 Spring Dance Performance promises to be much more than just a dance performance: It will shine a light on what’s possible when students of all abilities are given the support and opportunity to succeed through the arts.

Music, Community, and Advocacy: A Month of Impact
To warm up for our spring dance performances, we took over the mic — literally! Our recent Music Bingo Night in Staten Island was a huge hit, drawing an incredible crowd for a night of tunes, games, and giving back. The energy in the room was electric as families, friends, and supporters came together to play, dance, and raise funds for our inclusive programs. We’re so grateful for the turnout and support — it reminded us just how powerful our community really is.
Beyond performances and events, May has also been a month of advocacy. Our fearless leader Nicole has been speaking out about recent Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program cuts and the real-world impact these decisions have on students and organizations like ours. Through interviews and public engagement, Nicole continues to raise awareness about the vital importance of arts access for individuals with disabilities and the urgent need to protect inclusive programming.
These efforts remind us that our work doesn’t end when the dancing stops; it extends into policy, education, and community leadership, year-round.

From Staten Island to Orlando to Brooklyn, May has been a whirlwind of music, movement, and mission for Chance 2 Dance. And while the spotlight may shine brightest on performance day, it’s the moments leading up to it — the rehearsals, the breakthroughs, the everyday sparks of joy — that define who we are.
