Victor Wisehart Named Creative Director of Chance 2 Dance

Victor Wisehart serves as Creative Director of Chance 2 Dance, Inc., a performing arts organization serving dancers of all abilities in Central Florida. In this role, he leads the organization’s artistic vision, creative strategy, and production development, with a commitment to excellence, inclusion, and transformative storytelling.

A professional director, choreographer, and performer, Victor’s career spans Broadway, regional theatre, and international performance. He has originated roles on Broadway and is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC). His experiences at the highest levels of the performing arts have shaped his belief that accessibility and artistic excellence are not separate ideals—they are essential partners.

Since joining Chance 2 Dance, Victor has played a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s creative identity, developing impactful community partnerships, and advancing its mission to ensure that individuals of all abilities have meaningful, sensory-friendly access to the arts.

He holds a BFA in Dance from The Boston Conservatory, an MA in Contemporary Theatre Making from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’s Theatre LAB in London, and is currently an MFA Candidate at Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts.

Through his leadership, Victor continues to champion a future where inclusive arts are not an exception, but the standard, where every artist has the opportunity to be seen, celebrated, and empowered.

From Showcase Volunteer to Creative Director

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Victor to reflect on the journey that led him to Chance 2 Dance, his growth within the organization, the moments that have stayed with him, and his hopes for the seasons ahead.

VW: “I first began with Chance 2 Dance as a volunteer at showcases. That was my first real introduction to the organization — not from the outside, but from inside the room, watching the dancers, families, staff, and volunteers come together to create something really special.

After volunteering at several showcases, I remember turning to my wife, Brittany, and saying, “You know, I think I really should be teaching here.” She looked at me and said, “Yeah… you really should.”

That conversation led to my first class, a small Saturday class called Broadway Bound. It gave me the chance to bring my theatre and dance background into the studio and connect with dancers in a way that felt joyful, creative, and very natural. From there, Broadway Bound grew into more opportunities, including outreach workshops and additional teaching.

So my beginning with C2D was simple: I showed up to help, fell in love with the work, and realized there was a place for me to contribute.”

An Evolving Creative Journey in Orlando

After moving to Orlando following the pandemic, Victor found himself rebuilding his career in a new city while continuing to look for ways to contribute to Chance 2 Dance.

VW: “To be honest, my path to this position was not exactly direct.

When I moved to Orlando after COVID, my career had been rooted in New York City and London, and I was entering a new city where I knew very few people. At the time, Chance 2 Dance was growing, but there was not yet a full-time role available. I believed deeply in the organization and hoped there would eventually be a place where my background could serve the mission, but in the meantime I needed sustainable employment.

That journey took me through several unexpected roles — directing another dance studio, working as a General Manager for LA Fitness, and later serving as Vice President of a start-up. During that time, I was working in Atlanta during the week, flying home late Friday nights, landing around 2:00 a.m., teaching at Chance 2 Dance at 10:00 a.m., and then flying back to Atlanta soon after.

It was a lot, but it was worth it. I knew Chance 2 Dance was a unique organization serving incredible individuals in our community through an art form I have devoted my life to.

Eventually, our Founder and Executive Director, Nicole Warren, created a role that allowed me to stay in Orlando and work in community outreach while continuing to teach in the studio and throughout the community. That position grew into Director of Community Outreach and has now evolved into Creative Director.

This role feels like the natural meeting point of my experience as a director, choreographer, creative, producer, and arts leader. It allows me to help shape the artistic future of Chance 2 Dance while continuing to serve a community and mission I care deeply about.”

The Moments That Stay With You

When asked about his favorite memories, Victor didn’t point to a particular performance.

VW: “My favorite memories are often the moments when I get to witness parents seeing their dancers change over time.

Sometimes it is a parent noticing more confidence, more independence, or more willingness to connect. Sometimes it is a dancer finding expression in a way they had not before. And sometimes it is something as simple and powerful as laughter.

There are parents who may not have heard their dancer laugh like that in years. Then one afternoon, they are sitting in the studio, watching class, and suddenly there it is, that sound of joy they may have wondered if they would ever hear again.

Those moments stay with me. When parents share what this work has brought back into their homes joy, confidence, connection, expression it fills me to the brim. It reminds me that this work is so much bigger than dance. It is about helping people be seen, and helping families witness growth they may have only hoped was possible.”

Looking Ahead: A Stronger Creative Identity

As Creative Director, Victor plans to bring together his experience in directing, choreography, performance, production, and community engagement to help shape the organization’s artistic future.

VW: “In this new role, I hope to help Chance 2 Dance continue growing as a performing arts organization with a clear artistic voice, a strong creative identity, and a deeper connection between our mission and what audiences experience.

For me, creative direction is not just about choosing themes, music, costumes, or show titles. It is about building an artistic framework that allows every part of the organization to move with purpose. My goal is to help shape productions, community experiences, partnerships, and public-facing materials that reflect the caliber of artistry already happening inside Chance 2 Dance.

I believe every dancer carries a story, and our job is to create the conditions for that story to be revealed. That means developing performances that are not only inclusive, but artistically intentional, experiences where dancers are challenged, supported, and seen as artists first. It also means helping our choreographers, staff, volunteers, families, and community partners understand how each piece of the work connects to something larger.

My creative methodology has always lived at the intersection of storytelling, movement, production, and human connection. I am interested in how a performance feels from the moment someone first sees the poster, to the moment they walk into the space, to the moment the lights come up and they realize they are witnessing something meaningful. That level of intentionality can strengthen how our organization is seen, how our dancers are valued, and how our community understands the power of inclusive performing arts.

Ultimately, I hope to help Chance 2 Dance continue evolving from a place where people come to participate in dance into a place where artists are developed, stories are revealed, and audiences are invited to see inclusion not as an accommodation, but as a source of creativity, innovation, and excellence.”

As Chance 2 Dance looks toward its upcoming seasons, Victor’s vision is clear: to create work that is intentional, ambitious, inclusive, and rooted in the belief that every dancer has a story worth telling.

His new role marks an exciting next chapter — one where artistic excellence and inclusion don’t simply coexist, but strengthen one another.
