Jazz

This dance class lays the foundation for correct, safe and successful dancing in years to follow. Instructors foster an appreciation of dance through a proper class routine, such as warm-ups, isolations, stretches, technical development and across the floor progressions, combinations and footwork. We will also focus on dance terminology and dance class etiquette.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is an urban style of dance that is high-energy and infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking. Hip Hop dance classes encourage students to have strength and stamina to successfully participate in the exercises and combinations. Students are urged to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

Tap dancers performing on stage

Tap

Tap is a dance style that requires special dance shoes with metal taps on the sole of the shoe. Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination and speed of movement. The dance class emphasizes developing proper tap technique that produces clear tap sounds and having fun.

Dancers doing line dances together

Line Dancing

A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in lines or rows and execute the steps at the same time. Dancers get started with basic dance rhythms, short combinations and easy-to-do, low-impact line dances. Dancers learn dance rhythms in social dancing, typical line dance steps and patterns used at weddings or parties.

Broadway C2D Dancers

Musical Theater

A stylized dance genre that has no limits or technical boundaries. This class focuses on learning proper dance technique while exploring various iconic dance styles used in Broadway shows. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with Broadway styled jazz. An emphasis is also placed on learning storytelling through acting, emotions and facial expressions.

Ballet

Students learn classical ballet techniques and terminology through barre exercises, center floor work and across-the-floor combinations. The ballet curriculum is based on a combination of the French Vagonova and Cecchetti methods. As students progress through each level, curriculum becomes increasingly more complex and intricate.

Ballroom Basics

Ballroom classes use 2, 3 & 4 step-patterns, rhythmic movement and express the characteristics of music. This Ballroom Basics course walks students through the salsa, jive and cha-cha techniques! As they explore the basics in each class, we remind students to remember to have fun and find their unique style.
